Cheltenham trip
we had planned it for over 2 weeks before hand and when the day came we left my house at anout 7:10 to pick up jack, as usual when we got to Jacks we weren't very punctual etc and when we got in the car again it was 25 to 7. aaaah, the train left at 7:50 we had to rush and got there in time to board our train and off it was to southampton to change trains, On the first journey we were complaining cos allthough we had huge amounts of space on the first train we wished it had had a table and been more comfortable, on boarding the second train we wished we had the first train again, the new one was cramped leaving Jack and I to have 4 seats between 5 bags and 2 boardsb and us, pretty cramping. To cap that stage of the journey off jack managed to hit someone in the head with his trucks as we were getting on the train. We arrived at Bristol parkway in plenty of time so went ang grabbed some food before waiting for the train to cheltenham. On this train we managed to get into FIRST class, as everyone was l;ooking at us strangely and this was only a half hour journey we decided to stand in the guard room. We arrived at Cheltenham and Phoned mr Pete Tatham to collect us. He picked us up 5 minutes later and we stuffed the boards and whatever bags we could into the boot. At Petes we re-assembled and cleaned Jacks board before managing to spend an enjoyable two hours chilling and eating before we finally decided it was time to board. We went off to one of the nosno guys favourite places at Birdlip. There are some lovely wood runs there including the easiest one which is half a mile long, we spent most of our time on this not wanting to try whiplash, named so because when you are going over 30 mph going between to trees just over a metre and a half apart gets pretty hard. Our last run of all was a run we found that day called Bonkers. At the top you had to hop your board around stumps and avoid bramble bushes (Reese and I didn't and they hurt!) then as you come to the bottom you have to drop off avoid a stump and ride it out down an old stream bed. then it was back to Petes to watch some mountainboard stuff on video and then to eat fish and chips(cheers Jack for buying that for me) but i had lost my wallet with my precious train tickets in. Not good. Then we watched a vid that Andy had rented out(who recommended it) called Monkeybone , a very twisted video that I won't describe though the title doesn't really describe it. Next morning I woke up at about 9:30 to see Barney(petes mad dog) lying like a teddy next to me, 5 mins later he had woken up properly and was trying to bite my hand again. Jack came down and barney tried to bite him, half an hour later Pete came down and barney was a good boy again. we decided to do cleeve hill in the morning so we set off at about 11 to meet reese and wayne. We did breakers for the whole of the morning, it was a great run really fast but smooth like a natural course. I crashed hard on my second run slamming my hip into the ground and that was me out for the day. I still have the swelling now and its almost two weeks later! Jack was flying around the course, on one run all 4 of them (Jack, Pete, Reese and Wayne) all made it to the very bottom, we got some great filming and haad an excellent time but forgot to take photos. On the way back the journeywent smoothly again except for being rather cramped and we arrived back in Chichester for 6:30.
